The Knox Ice Melt work to about 15 degrees and their Remove product works to about 5 degrees above. Their products are a very uniform product that spreads well and works great.

WEBNov 27, 2014 · I keep ice melter in salt bins at many properties, for some reason the ice melter does not stay dry, there will actually be inches of water in the bottom of the box, I dont know if its condensation or what or if its moisture coming out of the ice melter, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

WEBDec 23, 2004 · BTW we are setting up as a distributor for the Avalanche product if intrested. Urea is a nitrogen fertilizer 46-0-0. It will melt to +15 F. Potassium Chloride is also a fertilizer 0-0-62 and can be used as a ice melter. It melts to +12 F. Avalanche (Kissner) is +90% rock salt with 1-2% CMA added as the bait.

This what I have done with rock hard bags in the past. Little tip storing salt lay some weat straw on it during the summer time then tarp the bags.
