David Baker, Demis Hassabis and John M. Jumper have been awarded the 2024 Nobel prize in chemistry for research on predicting protein structures and designing new proteins

The Nobel Prize in chemistry is being awarded Wednesday, a day after two artificial intelligence pioneers won the physics award.The Nobel committee at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences is set to announce the chemistry prize late morning.

Two pioneers in the field of machine learning have been awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences honored John Hopfield and Geoffrey Hinton “for foundational discoveries and inventions that enable machine learning with artificial neural networks.”
