The San Antonio Spurs felt the effects of playing without center Victor Wembanyama as they lost to the Dallas Mavericks 110-93. Wembanyama was sitting on the bench in street clothes after he suffered a knee contusion Friday night against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Dallas Mavericks have started the season 5-7, not how they envisioned their attempt to defend their Western Conference crown. Luka Doncic entered the season as the MVP favorite, and while his base stats of 29.3 PPG, 8.0 APG, and 8.0 RPG look fine, he's shooting poorly from the floor and from three.

"Dallas has now made it official and is listing Luka Doncic as out tonight in Oklahoma City with a right knee contusion," NBA insider Marc Stein wrote. "It will be the first game Doncic misses this season even though a calf injury cost him the entire preseason."
