Bollywood superstar and "Bigg Boss 18" host Salman Khan has been requested by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to convince the makers of the controversial reality show to not use animals.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India on Wednesday appealed to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan to use his influence to remove a donkey from the sets of "Bigg Boss 18"

Its not even a week and 'Bigg Boss 18' is already getting open letters by authorities. This time PETA has sent a letter to Salman Khan against using animal as 'props for entertainment.

Bigg Boss 18 recently held its grand premiere. On the hit reality show, hosted by Salman Khan, there are has 18 contestants inside the house but the show also has an actual animal – a donkey as the 19th contestant.

An advocacy associate with PETA wrote, Shaurya Agrawal, a letter to Salman Khan, the host of Bigg Boss 18. In the letter, he claimed, "We are being inundated with complaints by members of the public who are deeply distressed over the keeping of a donkey in the Bigg Boss house.

A paparazzo revealed on Instagram that Max is the pet of contestant Advocate Gunaratna Sadavarte and will be living in the Bigg Boss house with other participants. The caption read, "For all those who were wondering as to what a donkey is doing inside the Bigg Boss 18 house,
