U.S. Coast Guard crews were kept busy over the weekend, rescuing 16 people in five separate emergencies in the Bay Area and along the Monterey coast.

Sixteen people were rescued along the Northern California coast over the weekend in five separate incidents, the United States Coast Guard (USCG) announced Monday. The first rescue unfolded on Friday when a 16-foot boat became grounded on mud in the San Pablo Bay.

On Saturday afternoon, a Coast Guard Station Golden Gate motor lifeboat towed a 21-foot boat with four people on board after their boat became disabled near Bakers Beach. On Sunday afternoon, crews rescued five people after their 24-foot boat became disabled a mile west of Kehoe Beach.
