行政長官李家超表示，特區政府安排一系列豐富慶祝活動，與市民分享國慶的喜悅，其中煙花匯演是重頭戲，盛載對祖國繁榮昌盛的美好祝願。他勉勵大眾繼續努力，為國家和香港的輝煌成就作出貢獻。

國慶煙花匯演今晚舉行，慶祝中華人民共和國成立75周年。31,888枚煙花在維多利亞港上空綻放，吸引大批市民在港九多處觀賞。 煙花匯演歷時約23分鐘，由文化體育及旅遊局統籌，主題為「盛世煙花耀中華」，分為八幕，各具特色。

大匯演由不同紀律部隊和輔助部隊樂隊的表演拉開序幕。在警察樂隊的演奏下，各部隊和團體的成員以中式步操進場，消防處護旗方隊繼而進行升旗儀式，現場奏唱國歌，政府飛行服務隊直升機在空中敬禮。

卓永興先到灣仔交加街的露天市集選購內地土特產、衣物、零食，之後到一家茶室品嚐蝦多士、熱狗、雪糕涼粉等美食，享用全日全單75折的優惠。他又在鵝頸街市熟食中心以75折價錢購買多種燒味和咖哩羊腩，與市民歡度國慶。
