Representative Pat Ryan, Democrat of New York, won a second full term on Tuesday, according to The Associated Press, holding a key swing district in his party’s quest to flip the House majority.

Rep. Pat Ryan (D-NY) held on to his seat in New York’s 18th Congressional District, fending off Republican Alison Esposito’s fierce challenge. Ryan beat Esposito with 59% of the vote to Esposito’s 41%. The Associated Press called the race shortly after 10:30 p.m. Eastern time, with 72% of the vote counted so far.
