The cold snap has well and truly arrived, with snow set to fall in parts of the country throughout the week ahead - starting as early as this evening according to Met Eireann

Northern Ireland is bracing itself for an icy blast with a weather warning for snow and ice issued. The yellow alert comes into affect at 3pm on Monday and will last until 10am on Tuesday. The Met Office explained that outbreaks of rain spreading west during the afternoon will turn to sleet and wet snow at times.

A status yellow snow and ice warning has been issued for the counties of Cavan, Donegal and Leitrim. Snowfall is possible this Monday evening and overnight, alongside poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions. Issued this Monday morning, November 18, the warning is vaild from 7pm this evening until 8am, Tuesday morning.
