It is a season of sacking one's own, even as both BJP and Congress look at addressing the problems of rebels and independent candidates in the Haryana elections. The Congress on Monday expelled 10 leaders for alleged anti-party activities for six years.

Ram Bilas Sharma, a five-time MLA from Mahendragarh and a three-time state minister, had filed his nomination as the BJP delayed the announcement of its candidate.

Mohan Lal Badoli, the party’s Haryana unit chief, said that the leaders were expelled for six years with immediate effect.
