The newest class of Massachusetts State Police officers will graduate Wednesday in Worcester, Massachusetts, weeks after the death of a trainee. Trooper Enrique Delgado-Garcia, 25, died following a boxing exercise at the State Police Academy in New Braintree. Internal and independent investigations are now underway.

(WJAR) — The Massachusetts State Police are set to graduate their 90th recruit training troop on Wednesday. The event will be held at the DCU Center in Worcester at 11 a.m. This comes a week after the new superintendent of the state police, Col. Geoffrey Noble, was sworn in. He's a native of Rhode Island.

The graduation of the 90th Recruit Training Troop is set for 11 a.m. at the DCU Center in Worcester. The new troopers completed 25 weeks of training at the State Police Academy in New Braintree, but it was there that Delgado-Garcia suffered a serious injury during a boxing exercise and died the next day.

Dozens of people protested outside the graduation ceremony on Wednesday, calling for justice after a trainee died during an exercise.
