As of 12:00 p.m. ET, DownDetector (a site that shares the same parent company as Mashable) shows that there have been over 100,000 reports of Verizon outages. Fifty-one percent say that the issue involves their mobile phone, 35 percent say they're not getting any signals, and 14 percent say they're experiencing a total blackout.

Verizon has confirmed an outage affecting some of its mobile phone users that sparked a flurry of complaints on social media about disruptions to placing calls and accessing the internet.

A Verizon cellular outage left at least some of the carrier’s customers without service Monday morning. The website Downdetector, which relies on user reports, showed a large spike in reported issues just before 7 a.m. Its map shows the issue is widespread, with reports of problems in cities across the country.
