Director James Gunn continues to confuse fans about the canon of the new DCU, laughing at Zack Snyder's Justice League.

Although the first season is mostly DCU canon, 'Peacemaker' Season 2 will address the elephant in the room the Justice League cameos.

In conversation with IGN, James Gunn clarified most of what happened in the first season of Peacemaker will remain canon in his new DCU. Now in Creature Commandos, you’ll hear them talk about things that happened in [The] Suicide Squad or Peacemaker.

M ost of the upcoming DC movies and upcoming DC TV shows will take place in the DC Universe, the new shared continuity that’s rising from the ashes of the DC Extended Universe.

James Gunn admitted that only one key part of Peacemaker is no longer canon. The mind behind the Guardians of the Galaxy movies was brought in to head the DC Extended Universe project in October 2022.
