McLaren’s Lando Norris edged Red Bull’s Max Verstappen for the pole at the United States Grand Prix on Saturday

After capturing pole position on Friday for the F1 Sprint, Verstappen delivered a wire-to-wire on Saturday. The result saw him pull two points further ahead of Lando Norris in their fight for the Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship, and it also brought Red Bull two points closer to McLaren in the Constructors’ title fight.

Formula One is back in the U.S. for round 19 of the 2024 world championship at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas. Max Verstappen has claimed pole position for Saturday’s sprint race. Lando Norris will start fourth. Carlos Sainz topped FP1 ahead of Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc, in the weekend’s sole free-practice.
