Officials ordered a new evacuation for the Line fire Sunday, Sept. 29, nearly a month after the fire in the San Bernardino Mountains was first reported.

The Line Fire, which has already torched more than 40,000 acres since its ignition in early-September, kicked back up on Sunday, forcing a new round of evacuation orders and warnings for people living in the San Bernardino Mountains.

The flare-up began late last week and fire officials said the fire was burning in the Bear Creek area south of the Snow Valley Resort and that smoke can be seen throughout the Inland Empire and High Desert.
