Atlanta is under a Flash Flood warning as tropical storm Helene entered Georgia bringing with it strong winds and rain.

Helene is now a tropical storm as it sweeps across Georgia. Metro Atlanta is contending with dangerous flooding and the ongoing threat of powerful wind gusts. Right now: Nearly 34,000 Georgia Power customers in the Atlanta area were without power as of 6am Friday morning.

As it works to restore power to the Georgians impacted by Tropical Storm Helene, Georgia Power said the company had so far gotten the lights back on for about 690,000 customers.
