Florida Atlantic has fired football coach Tom Herman with two games left in his second season at the school, neither of which resulted in a winning record.

The Owls fired Herman on the heels of a loss to Temple, which had been 2-7 entering the weekend. Temple also fired its coach, Stan Drayton, despite the win. Drayton had served as Texas' running back coach from 2017-21.
