This is a nice museum with a good variety. It of course has the iconic Chihuly but there are other great artists here too. We particularly enjoyed the children’s artwork that were made into glass art… Full review by laurenpc123

To tour the museum leisurely, about an hour. The Hot Shop, included in your admission to the museum, gives you, the visitor, an opportunity to watch artists create masterpieces …

To tour the museum leisurely, about an hour. The Hot Shop, included in your admission to the museum, gives you, the visitor, an opportunity to watch artists create masterpieces from molten glass. The amount of time spent here, is up to you. The artists and their assistants interact with the audience on what they are doing and why. From a kid stand point, the Hot Shop is housed inside the architecturally unique 90-foot stainless steel cone—which is cool in itself!

does it cost money to observe in the hot shop?

There is an admission into the museum which will include the hot shop. Sorry, I don't really remember the fee but you should be able to check on line.

I don't think the really little ones would find much pleasure there. When I visited last summer (it was either a Friday or Saturday early afternoon), there was a crafting event going on for an extra fee that appeared to have several grade-school kids participating.
