Loads for Rossi 45 Colt - Cast Boolits
WEBMay 9, 2013 · I'm trying to work up an accurate load for my new Rossi M92 in 45 Colt. I've slugged the bore and it measures .452 groove diameter. So far I've tried 3 different boolits of 200 grains and two of 250 grain weight with 8.5 to 10 grs of Unique with no joy.

WEBAug 2, 2013 · Getting .45 Colt to shoot well can be challenging. Most .45 colt barrels have been .451 since before WWII, but it wouldn’t surprise me if Rossi built a compromise chamber between .454 and .451. My Rossi is old enough to not have been molested by the Lawyers with the stupid safety.

WEBMar 2, 2014 · Rossi R92 45Colt Question: What load would be suitable for critters up to deer, hogs? I have 255gr SWC, 325gr LFNPB LBT, and 357gr LFN. Non are gas checked as I don't think necessary. I have a S&W 460 XVR that I shoot 45Colt as well, but have 454Casull and 460 loads for it, so really just the rifle loads are what I'm interested in.

WEBJul 4, 2010 · The main problem with Rossi is that you can get an overbore barrel, and the grooves are small, close to microgrooves. So, with .44mag, if you shoot a .429" bullet in a .432" barrel, the accuracy will be quite poor. But, if you measure the bore and use the appropriate bullet, the accuracy is good.
