WEBGenerally speaking, most items on this car make themselves known well in advance of needing to be replaced. Spark plugs, coils, and injectors can all contribute to misfires, stumbling, and rough idle. There are generally-accepted intervals for the ignition components, which you can find on the e90 forums.

Find a dedicated transmission shop that is willing to drain and fill, replacing the pan and/or filter as necessary. Changing the transmission fluid is the best way to prolong its life.
